Why journaling? I asked myself when I saw this book. Isn’t that something teenagers do when they are in love or are in a mean mode? But something pushed me to check this book out. And I’m so happy I did.The book is not empty lines with a cluster of quotes but an actual actionable guide to deconstructing and healing life-long limiting beliefs you have of yourself. Zoe, very vulnerably, shares her personal path on the subject. Her examples are surprisingly relatable even though we come from so different backgrounds. Every page I felt at least once, “hey, that’s me too” , “I do or did that too”, “I want to know that too.”And here comes the best part, she tells you how you can find the answers, heal the wounds and understand yourself - through journaling practices. Even better, she offers a free printable journal to guide you through the exercises. All I had to do was downloading this file (its word format so its editable on the computer), read the book and fill out the exercise sheets. Wow… some stuff really hit me. I mean, I kind of sort of knew some of these things about myself but they didn’t make any sense until I sat down and wrote about them in a specific context. It’s different having something on the back of your mind or in front of your eyes, folks.She separates her self-discovery journaling process into 4 steps, each building upon the other one. All in all it is a useful book. A helpful one. Many times I feel “oh, this was a good book but not particularly helpful”. Well this one is both.

Very thorough overview to the benefits of journaling - in particular how this form of introspection can alter our method of thinking. Wonderful read!

I liked how the chapters in this book were broken down into steps. Each step was focused on a specific topic. Awareness, transformation, etc. Each step is then elaborated on by deep diving into the topic. Thorough explanations and examples are set forth which was beneficial to me as I am new to and still learning about Journalling.

This book truly touched me as I could relate with the author's struggles, discovery processes and conclusions quite a bit. The book was divided into four sections, each section talking about a step in one's self-discovery journey. Each of these steps I found crucial - awareness, understanding, non-blaming, self-empathy and forgiveness and in the end honest embracing of oneself. The author had a way with her words and conveyed her message in a vulnerable and authentic way. I enjoyed the read and the printable journal attached was super helpful.

This book gave me so much emotionally. The author talks about her self-transformation journey with brutal honesty and reminds us we are all people who struggle to deal with many of the same day to day issues.We are not alone and we are not weak. Are we going to get knocked down from time to time, yes we will, but she reminds us that when we get back up and learn from those lessons we'll get out as a much better versions of ourselves on the other side.Hold on to your wishes to become better, whatever they may be, stop convincing yourself that you can't do it! Don't let your negative thoughts, society or any individual take those hopes away. You need to take care of yourself!! We often have so many others who are looking to us to help take care of them and we can't do that if we don't take care of ourselves.A quick and motivating read. I am sure I will read it again, not only because I can relate to her stories, but also to be reminded of that motivation she provides.
