I won't go into all the "this book contains thus and so..." stuff other than to say I have a TON of candy books and this is probably my favorite. It's a technique book primarily which focuses on nine kinds of confections and helps out with both troubleshooting and presentation (two things other candy books seem to not focus on). The pictures are very helpful (and colorful!) and the text is easy to understand. I've been baking for over 40 years now and candy making can challenge even the most experienced confectioner. With this book I've gleaned great ideas and learned to troubleshoot a few challenging techniques. If you only buy one candy-making book, I highly recommend this one.

I love making candy, but it is usually difficult for me as I live at a high altitude and don't have very much experience. What I love about this book is the clear, concise step by step directions, which is so helpful for a novice like me. I also like that many of the steps have photos that accompany them so I can get a good visual of what my candy should look like. The author also has some trouble shooting help, which helps with everything from high altitude problems, to a bunch of other potential candy catastrophes. I finally fell like I can make candy now! The recipes are delicious, and I like that there are recipes for the beginner like me, all the way up to the advanced, like I hope to be. I also like how different the candy is. I love chocolate, my husband, likes tangy and fruity, and my daughter likes caramel and marshmallows, there are a bunch of really good candy recipes for all of us.

I love Elizabeth's recipes. The instructions are clear and simple for a beginner. Yet the actual candy recipes are fabulous! I have followed her on Aboutcandy.com and Sugar Hero (on facebook) for years. Excellent candy cookbook!

Bought this for my 10 year who LOVES it. Recipes are easy to follow and are interesting. They're not just the regular chocolate this, chocolate that. There's a good variety of candies/ sweets.

Love this recipe book. People complimented the candies I made and even asked me for the recipes!

My kids and I are enjoying the recipes in this book. I found the instructions easy to follow. It comes with pictures to help illustrate what you should be doing. My kids have enjoyed making candy with their dad. So far their favorite has been the lollipops!

Fantastic! This is great for anyone who wants to take a whack at candy making and learning the basics. We've already done quite a few of the recipes and they are delicious. My wife asked me to stop making them for a while because she's blaming me for 5 extra pounds she's gained since we got the book so I'm limiting the candy making for special ocassions. Make sure you read through the recipe before you start! Preparation is key to avoid ruining a batch.

This is not only a very informative book but now is one of my must have books when making candy. I have three daughters and all three have barrowed it from me and had to pester them to get it back. I think I know what they are getting for their birthdays Ha! Ha!.
